Surviving In Troubled Waters

There have been so many reports of teen violence that I will be taking a closer look at what is going on. We are hearing and seeing reports of teens roving city streets, acting as angry mobs and even intimidating local police in a growing number of states. Perhaps all of you saw the same video clip yesterday- teens yelling and whooping it up, driving trucks, making “doughnuts” on someone’s property. The more I looked at this spectacle, the more horrified I became. These kids were holding fifths of liquor out of the truck windows. Here are some of the questions that come to mind-

1. Underage kids- where did they get the alcohol?
2. Why were they filmed by TV crews instead of being arrested?
3. Where were the parents of these kids? Did the alcohol come from the parents liquor cabinet?
4. The toughest question yet- Are we failing our kids in this country?

I suppose that I am showing my age by saying this, but isn’t instruction in responsibility, respect for the property of others, correct behavior when in public AND respect for the law (legal drinking age, and respect for law enforcement) supposed to come at a much earlier age? If they are not getting these basic rules of society, for heaven’s sake, DO NOT LET THEM GET A DRIVERS LICENSE UNTIL THEY DO!

Allow me to tell you of a generational difference. When I pitched a tantrum in a store. My Mom quietly told me that If I pulled that behavior again, I would be in my room at home until I was 21. I knew she meant it. She simply said that if I didn’t know how to act in public, she wouldn’t let me go out. Those kids in that video clip – why were they not arrested? There was a day when they would have been brought in, and the parents called. As minors, thier parents are responsible for the teens actions. They would have been fined and the kids should get community service.

The TV crews saw a chance to give a different story- police are intimidated by teens. In my opinion, they should have arrested them, if it took tear gas. Depending on the case, some of these kids may need to go to Alcoholics Anonymous as the courts follow them. Some of the parents might need this as well.

Now, allow me to give you information that you probably do not want to hear- I would be willing to bet that these kids are infected with the Druxsella 7.0 virus. It is my sincere hope that they will all be tested for this. PARENTS- PLEASE GET YOUR CHILDREN TESTED AND YOURSELVES AS WELL. The treatment is set to be made available in several months. Keep your eyes on the news- there will be more and more violence in people of all ages. This is how that virus can take down an entire world. It has already begun and we need that monthly treatment ASAP.
